Notes from the Family
Summertime and the living is easy. I love the summer. The days are warmer. They are longer. They are more carefree. Most of our birthdays are in the summer. I always look forward to the days when I no longer have to wear jackets and heavy shoes. Oddly, this summer has been unseasonable cold and we have had more rain than usual while the rest of the country broils under what the news outlets are calling a 'heat dome'. The summer season is a big reason why I have not been updating our family website, other than the fact that I have been busy working and trying to keep up with a new schedule.
June | Quinn turned 5 in June. What a big boy! I cannot believe how quickly he has grown into a 5 year old. He loves music and dancing. He'll usually stop in his tracks when he hears music and he'll be lost in it until the song is over. Quinn really loves story time. He has quite an imagination and can get lost in a story or a movie. Although, Quinn can get lost in the mix as his personality is not nearly as large as his older and younger brother, he still has his likes and dislikes. He loves Toy Story, especially Buzz Lightyear. He loves Perry the Platypus. He loves painting and doing his Brain Quest trivia. On the sports front, he will be starting soccer this fall and his first practice will be in August. He's very excited about this. We had a small celebration for Quinn's birthday. It was yummy and low-key. The next day we went to Happy Hollow. The kids had a BLAST! Scroll to his section to read more about it.

July |Our odd summer weather finally let up in July...well parts of it. We still had unseasonably cold weather accompanied by some rainy days, but we did manager to get some pool time and a visit to the beach for our friend, Teresa's birthday. (That was lots of fun!)

July also presented our family with a visit to the San Jose History Park for my company's picnic. The day was full of activity. The company has lots of young families so they ensure the little kids have lots of crafts and activities to do while at the picnic. It was a really enjoyable day. I loved the venue.

Birthday greetings to our friends and family who have or will celebrate

Lastly, this little prayer song is for you:
May the blessing of the Lord be upon you
The blessing of the Father and the Son
And may the Spirit of God, the Spirit of God

Hello again, everybodeeeee!
June | In June, I worked on the last of my requirements for my Tiger Cub year. One of the things we had to do was visit a firestation. Daddy called a local station and they said we could stop by and take a tour. The firefighters were SOOOO nice. They showed us their firetrucks and their firestation. I got to climb up and see the inside of the trucks. Then during our visit, they received and emergency call and one of the firefighters had to get his special coat and boots on to help a lady who needed some help. We stayed to the side and watched them roll out of the giant garage!

My troop was given a special blessing during a mass because we worked hard to earn our religious medals. It was in front of everyone! Later in the month, after our visit to the firestation, I finished my Tiger requirements and was promoted to Wolf during a meeting. I now have a different colored kerchief and a new book.

July | Like Mommy said, we went to the beach for Teresa's birthday. Mommy wanted to visit the beach on her birthday, too, but she got REALLY sick and ended up being home most of the week. Instead, we took her out to dinner after she got home from work. It was still yummy!

June | I turned 5!!! It was so much fun having my birthday. Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Jack sent me a gift card for the Disney store. I ended up getting a really great Finn McMissile toy and a book.
From Mommy and Daddy, I got a big boy bike and a helmet. It's red and has Cars on it. I love it.
The day after my actual birthday, we went to Happy Hollow Park. Oh my gosh, there is so much to do there! There are rides and lots of places to run around. There is a huge play park that has slides and lots of bridges. It was amazing. I didn't want to leave. I even got to ride on my first roller coaster!

The week after my birthday, Cars2 came out and Mommy and Daddy took all of us to the theatres to watch it. We had so much fun. I LOVE Finn McMissile. It's not so different being 5, but it was so much fun celebrating it!
July | In July we had our church festival. It was so busy. Mommy and Daddy were kind of worried because it has been really hot the week before. Thankfully, it wasn't so hot on the festival day. We got these wristbands and so we could go on any ride our size as many times as we wanted to. At some point we ate some great food and got a halo-halo. I loved being at the festival because of the rides. Mommy liked having the food.

June | I finally got my hair cut! It took a really long time for Mommy to decide that she would let someone cut my hair. We went to a shop with little cars for chairs. I didn't cry or anything! I liked playing with the steering wheel. I did wonder what that funny buzzing thing was that they lady used on some of my hair. She was really nice, but maybe it's because I wasn't moving everywhere and crying all over the place. I look really different now, but my head isn't hot anymore!

July | In July we went to the beach to have a party for one of my godmothers,Teresa. She is so awesome. I love it when she and her sister, my other godmother, come over to visit and play. I love them both. I have only been to the beach a few times, but it was so much fun playing in the sand and walking around with my godfather. I have to get in all the playtime I can because he'll be going away to a special school in August.
